FAQ

Are you really Count St. Germain?

Indeed, go read my bio. And if you don’t believe me, you can still appreciate my walks, all historical anecdotes are accurate.

Do you do in-person visits?

My body disappears so often in the Spirit of Paris that I’d rather not. But I can recommend some good in-person guides in Paris.

Do you always wear a top hat?

No, but I confess to being in a 19th century phase, maybe because of Belgrand’s aqueduct and the 150th anniversary of the Paris Commune. But I also love wearing tricorn hats when I go to Versailles or Vaux-le-Vicomte. And I go “plainclothes” when I need to be discreet.

Can you recommend a good restaurant/hotel?

To each their own, YMMV… With my frame of reference, businesses come and go in the blink of an eye! For example, my favourite cocktail bar, À la française, disappeared years ago, but I still feel like I spent last night in its underground boudoir! I will try to put some reviews up on TripAdvisor.

Can you take me to the forbidden parts of the catacombs, or recommend a guide?

No, it is illegal and dangerous. However I will take you for a walk above both the legal and illegal parts of the Catacombs, and even reveal the location of Lupin’s secret entrance to the Catacombs in this audio tour.

Can I interview you?

Sure, email me at: contact AT walk DOT paris. Otherwise, you can try and DM me on the below social media, but I am really terrible at IM.
