You may have heard of the park, but the surrounding neighbourhood has an incredible history: nearly 2000 years of ruins, visible from its streets, and locals ranging from the first Black star of Montparnasse (before Josephine Baker!) to a leftist lesbian painter who became a heroine of the Resistance during WWII.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You won’t only hear my voice during the walk, but also sounds from the past, from water streams under your feet to mythical parties. It takes you above the actual filming locations of a very special episode, shot in both public and private tunnels under Paris. This walk connects fact & fiction about these tunnels, how they were used by real-life smugglers in the 1700s, modern day urban explorers called cataphiles… and the gentleman thief’s modern heir to escape the police. The original Ars\u00e8ne Lupin also lived here, and I’ll show you his very special home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Fewer cutesy or green streets in this one, but I reveal what lies behind tall walls -and beneath your feet- through rich soundscapes and special effects.
